Meet The Manager - Cheryl Jarman

I have been manager at the Orchards Day Nursery for over 20 years and I have loved every minute! One of the favourite parts of my role at The Orchards is coming up with new activities and new ways of doing things. I really enjoy making the nursery an enriching environment for children to learn new things. The most rewarding aspect is when you see a child come in as a baby and then leave to go to school and having an important part of that journey. My own children came to The Orchards Day Nursery, it was amazing to watch them grow in confidence and to be independent learners. I have an NVQ Level Four in Childcare and in my spare time I like to spend time with my family and my new dog.

WHAT PARENTS SAY

"After visiting several nurseries in the area we decided to send our son to Orchards Day Nursery and it was a great decision. Our son loves it there and we don’t have to worry about him while we’re in work. The staff are incredibly caring and the activities they offer are very diverse - from crafts, singing, reading, to walks in the community. We have the feeling that our son has developed a lot in their care. We are very glad to have chosen Orchards Day Nursery and would definitely recommend it!” (Parent at Royston Nursery March 2017)

“I wanted to take a moment to say a massive thank you to all of the staff at Orchards. I cannot believe how well --- has settled into nursery over the last couple of weeks. I feel calm about leaving her which is a huge help having returned to work whilst she is still so small. Being already familiar with you obviously helps, however you should all be very proud of the culture you have created for the children. Happy children means happy parents and I can’t thank you enough!”  (Parent at Royston Nursery May 2018)
